Refugees, Forced Displacement and Migration

One of our initial areas of focus has been on the refugee crisis, in collaboration with the Rotary Action Group for Refugees, Forced Displacement, and Migration. Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are among the most vulnerable individuals and families in the world. Their number has increased substantially, with close to 80 million people forcibly displaced in 2019. Countries with large numbers of displaced populations include Afghanistan, Myanmar, Somalia, South Sudan, Syria, and Venezuela. The Rotary Action Group publishes a range of knowledge products, including global reports, Knowledge notes, and interviews. Below is a list of available products.

In 2020, with the Rotary Club of Washington Global, we published the report "Providing Relief and Creating Opportunities for Refugees." The report provided context on the refugee crisis and showcased the work of Rotarians engaged on the frontline in providing support to refugees and IDPs. Download the Refugee Report 2020.
